About
Arun’s current research interests are in the areas of nanomaterials and devices for energy and manufacturing applications. He received his doctoral degree in Robotics from ETH Zurich and has held a post-doctoral appointment at the Sandia Labs in Albuquerque. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Minnesota and at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (India), and has previously worked at the Honeywell R&D Labs in Plymouth, MN. Prior to moving to UIC, Arun was an Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER award, and serves on the Executive Committee of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council as its first Vice President for Education. His research has appeared in high-impact journals such as Science, ACS Nano, Nano Energy, Nano Today, and Nanoscale, among others, and has also resulted in multiple US patents.
